PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide olefin polymers exhibiting various useful physical properties, such as a polymer having a narrow molecular weight distribution and a molecular weight in a specific range and a polymer having a functional group introduced at a terminal.SOLUTION: A monodispersed olefin polymer is obtained by polymerizing at least one olefin selected from olefins with 2 to 20 carbon atoms in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising a transition metal compound represented by the specified general formula (II-a). The polymer has a number-average molecular weight of 110,000 or more, and Mw/Mn (Mw: weight-average molecular weight, Mn: number-average molecular weight) of 1.3 or less.
