The pliers (10) have a switching unit for switching between a function of the pliers as force-translated pliers and another function of the pliers without force translation. Two jaws (14, 18) are swingably mounted at a grasp leg (12) around a rotational axis (A1). Another grasp leg (16) is swingably arranged at the former grasp leg around another rotational axis (A2) in the former function of the pliers and placed at one of the jaws in the latter function of the pliers. A driver i.e. pin (22), is arranged between the jaw and the latter grasp leg and engages with a recess (24) i.e. oblong hole.
