The heat exchanger (2) consists of two parts (11,12) respectively with first and second module groups of different material in first and second groups of the exchanger. The two groups are connected to their respective heat consumers (3,7) and the modules in the first group are switched in parallel to those in the second group with the primary connections (M-04) and both groups are connected to a common distributor with their primary feed connections (M-01). The two groups are connected in parallel with their output connections but at the same time connected to different return manifolds which in turn lead to a regulating valve (26,27). Both distributor and manifolds consist of a main cylinder with equi-spaced tap points for the respective exchanger modules, using screw joins at the tap points. All distributor module connections lie in line and parallel.
