The invention relates to a grinding device (1), in particular a striker blade mill or impact mill, comprising a grinding container (2) in which striker elements (21) are arranged on a shaft having a shaft axis. A closure device (5) for the grinding container (2) having a cover (3) and a lifting device (4) is provided, and is placed in positive engagement onto the grinding container (2), wherein the lifting device (4) enables a movement substantially parallel to the shaft axis. Furthermore a product inlet (6) and a product outlet (7) are provided, wherein in the operational state the cover (3) is pressed not only under its own weight but additionally by the lifting device (4) onto the grinding container (2).
