Provided is a simple connection path through which a peripheral device connects to a screen display or speaker of an external device. A signal converting apparatus using a faking file of the present invention includes: a connection unit connected with the external device; a signal reception unit receiving a digital or analog signal from the peripheral device via wired or wireless communication; and a control unit transmitting a faking file corresponding to the signal to the external device through the connection unit when the signal reception unit receives the signal from the external device, the faking file including one or both of audio data and video data.
