A data transmission apparatus is disclosed. The data transmission apparatus comprises: a user interface part which sets a reference domain in data displayed on a screen; a data generating part which converts the data into print data if a print command for the data is input, and generates transmission data by adding reference domain information regarding the set reference domain to the converted print data; and an interface part which transmits the generated transmission data to an image forming apparatus. Therefore, a user can more conveniently print reference documents contained in a document, such as a thesis or a publication, just by setting the reference domain, without separate operations.
