<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for inputting text using point movement, which are capable of completing a text input by only allowing a point indicating location information to move and pass through a location of an element displayed on an input screen. To this end, provided are an apparatus and a method for inputting text using point movement, wherein the apparatus comprises a cursor control unit, a memory unit, a control unit and a display unit. The cursor control unit controls the movement of a cursor which indicates location information on an input screen of a mobile terminal or a computer terminal. The memory unit stores input information on each element displayed on the input screen, and command information to perform a function corresponding to each element. The control unit controls an output of the input screen; receives location information on the cursor; checks whether the point of the cursor is moved; extracts, from the memory unit, the input information or the command information on an element at a position where the point is moved to if it is checked that the point of the cursor is moved on the input screen; selects and displays the extracted information as a text element for a text input, or controls the execution of a command. And a display unit displays the input screen and the location information on the cursor, and displays sentence combination results using the text element selected in the control unit.
