Disclosed is a display apparatus. The display apparatus includes a panel part including pixels; a pattern generation part which generates a light emitting pattern of sub fields of a frame based on the gray scale value of the frame of an image signal; and a panel driving part which applies a constant voltage to the pixels for a time corresponding to the gray scale value indicated in each of some sub field among the sub fields emitting light according to the light emitting pattern and applies, to the pixels, a voltage corresponding to the gray scale value indicated in each of the other sub fields.
