PURPOSE: A composition containing a Grateloupia elliptica extract is provided to suppress and prevent hair loss, to promote hair growth, and to be used for a pharmaceutical product and a cosmetic product. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing hair loss or promoting hair growth contains a Grateloupia elliptica extract. The concentration of the extract is 1-200 ug/ml. A pharmaceutical composition contains the composition for preventing hair loss or promoting hair growth. A cosmetic composition contains the composition for preventing hair loss or promoting hair growth.
