The piston valve assembly (8) has a piston (5) having two valve elements for allowing the flow of fluid in two opposite directions. A switching valve is provided for electrically opening and closing a controllable flowing path. The piston with the valve elements and the switching valve are formed as a pre-assembly. The second valve element and the switching valve are accommodated in the common housing (9). The piston with first valve element is connected outside the housing.
