The present invention relates to an image automatic editing apparatus by image analysis for generating an image appropriate for various screen configuration like a thumbnail image by editing a target image to edit automatically, especially including: a content information database for storing at least one editing target image; an image analysis module which is provided with the at least one editing target image from the content information database, and detects at least one major area of the whole area of the provided editing target image; an image configuration information database for storing configuration information of a layout where the edited image is to be arranged; and an image editing module for generating the edited image including the major area detected by the image analysis module automatically according to the configuration information stored in the image configuration information database.
