Disclosed are a method and system for controlling signaling connection between a network and a terminal. The method includes: in a predetermined statistical cycle, a mobility management element (MME) determining whether the number of times a terminal receives and sends data reaches a predetermined number threshold, and if a determining result is yes, confirming that the terminal enters a frequent data receiving and sending state; the MME maintaining signaling connection with the terminal; in a predetermined lag cycle, a packet data network gateway (PGW) determining whether the number of times data is received and sent is below the number threshold, and if yes, confirming that the terminal has exited the frequent data receiving and sending state. The present invention prevents frequent switching between a connected mode and an idle mode of the terminal. |
