Spiral air separator

Granular solids suspended in a gaseous carrier fluid are separated into three portions of differing particle size in a number of trays. Additional carrier fluid is introduced in each successive tray in the form of a spiral current into the flow of material and carrier fluid entering the tray. Specifically the flow of additional fluid introduced increases in accordance with the reduction in the size of the grains. Used for treating cement, pulverulent limestone, alveolar quartz or quartz capable of being rendered alveolar, polystyrene, plaster etc.
