The invention relates to a starter (10) intended for the drive (5) of the compressor of a refrigerated centrifuge, which starter can be switched on and off via the contacts (7, 8) of a relay (6) connected to a power section, wherein the power supply of the drive is provided temporarily by means of a starting circuit (11) located in the current path between a mains side and the drive (5). The starting circuit (11), equipped to control the power variation during the starting operation, is equipped to generate a ramp-like voltage rise until a nominal voltage is reached and, following the expiry of a starting time indicated by reaching the nominal voltage, is bridged by contacts (13). When the nominal voltage is reached, the final rotational speed of the drive has been reached. The starting circuit (11) thus has no function during nominal operation of the drive. |
