摘要 <p>The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a heat-insulating layer on the surface of a wall of an engine member (19), the heat-insulating layer being excellent in terms of crack resistance, peel resistance, deformation resistance, and gasoline resistance and having high heat-insulating properties. First, a heat insulator layer that comprises a silicone resin and hollow particles comprising a Si-based oxide ingredient is formed on the surface of a wall of an engine member (19). The surface of this heat insulator layer is heated to thereby oxidize the silicone resin and thus yield a Si-based oxide in at least some of the surface. A catalyst metal is imparted to the Si-based oxide which is derived from the silicone resin and/or hollow particles and which is present on the surface of the heat insulator layer. This catalyst metal is used as nuclei to conduct electroless plating. Thus, a heat-insulating layer (21) comprising a heat-insulating film (27) and a plating film (29) which covers the surface of the film (27) is obtained.</p>
