<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for forming an image, in each of which the throughput when many pieces of recording media are printed at a high speed is restrained from being deteriorated and the contact of an inkjet head with the recording medium is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for forming the image includes: a conveyance part for conveying the recording medium to the position which is just under the inkjet head including a nozzle and is opposed to the inkjet head; a paper feed part; a discharge control part for controlling the discharge of ink droplets from the nozzle; a conveyance control part for controlling the conveyance of the recording medium; a head relative distance control part for controlling the relative distance of the inkjet head from the conveyance part; and form height detector which are arranged at a plurality of places different in the conveying direction of the recording medium and used for detecting the form height showing the amount of the recording medium to be lifted from the conveyance part. At least one of the conveyance of the recording medium, the discharge of the ink droplets, and the relative distance of the inkjet head from the conveyance part is controlled according to the detected form height of the recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
