PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device capable of providing a superior separation performance for a variety of sheets under various environmental conditions and of suppressing defective conveyance, and also provide an image forming device. SOLUTION: When a suction belt 13 is positioned at a swing angle at which a second sheet does not tend to be separated, a first guide member 51a is positioned further upward, in the figure, than a second guide member 51b, and a sheet is guided by the first guide member 51a. When the suction belt 13 is positioned at a swing angle at which the sheet is liable to be separated from the suction belt 13, a second guide member 51b is positioned further upward, in the figure, than the first guide member 51a, the sheet is guided by the second guide member 51b.
