A surgical device (100) for deploying a surgical implant (210) includes a proximal portion and a distal portion. The distal portion includes a frame arm (104). A spring clip system (600) is coupled to the frame arm and includes a pair of clips (601) and a spring member (609). The spring member is connected to each of the clips and biases the clips towards a closed position. In the closed position, the clips are configured to retain the implant in contact with the frame arm.
