PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid filtration apparatus which has such a high filtration treatment capability as to be used for a ballast water treatment apparatus, has a simple structure and can detect breakage and the like of a filtration film.SOLUTION: The liquid filtration apparatus comprises: a filtration film unit; cleaning means which cleans a filtration surface of the filtration film unit from a side to which a liquid to be filtrated is supplied; and pressure detection means which detects a difference in pressure in the filtration operation at the front and rear sides of the filtration film unit. The filtration film unit has double filtration films. In addition, the liquid filtration apparatus is used as a filtration apparatus for sea water, and set to be a ballast water treatment apparatus that is installed in a marine vessel.
