PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid application device capable of measuring a discharge amount accurately with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A coating liquid application device 1 comprises an ink jet type application head 4 having a nozzle 4b for discharging a coating liquid and a weight measurement device 5 for measuring a weight of the coating liquid discharged from the application head 4. The weight measurement device 5 has a cup 52 as a receiving member for receiving the coating liquid discharged from the application head 4 and a shield plate 54 as a shielding member that covers the cup 52 from above and that has an opening 54a allowing the application head 4 to enter therein. When the weight of the coating liquid discharged from the application head 4 is measured, the coating liquid is discharged from the nozzle 4b of the application head 4 while the application head 4 is inserted in the opening.
