Homogeneous copolymers contain (I) acrylonitrile units, (II) conj. aromatic olefin units, the molar ratio of (I)/(II) being 2-6:1, and (III) up to 10 mole % units (based) (I) (II) selected from maleimide and its N-substd. derivs., and norbornene and its derivatives. Incorporation of (III) gives arylonitrile/styrene terpolymers with higher melting-points, which are suitable for the prodn. of mouldings. The copolymers are esp. useful for mixing with graft polymers having a rubber substrate, to give mixts. with a high impact strength.
