A cooker and a cooking method thereof are provided to cook food by calculating the cooking time depending on the humidity inside a cooking chamber which varies by the steam generated from water contained in a steaming vessel. A cooker includes a heating member(50), a humidity sensor(80), a controller(10), and a memory(40). The heating member heats a steaming vessel in which food is contained. The humidity sensor senses the humidity in a cooking chamber which varies by the steam generated from the steaming vessel. The controller controls operation of the heating member in accordance with the humidity sensed by the humidity sensor. The memory provides a driving algorithm and a reference value to the controller. |
