PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment method for separating and removing radioactive cesium from a contaminated soil containing the radioactive cesium by inexpensive means, and a method for removing the radioactive cesium from the contaminated soil using the pretreatment method.SOLUTION: The method for separating and removing radioactive cesium from a contaminated soil comprises: adding a potassium ion, one or two kinds of ammonium ion, an acid and water to a soil including radioactive cesium and kneading the mixture; maintaining the kneaded mixture for a predetermined period of time; adding water to the kneaded soil to be a slurry; and transferring the radioactive cesium to an aqueous phase. |
