The present invention relates to an image data format switching device using a multi-master which is capable of automatically and rapidly switching a data format of an image signal between host device and display device based on extension display identifier data of a display device using a multi-master including an input master combined to an input port and an output master combined to an output port. The image data format switching device using multi-master include: a first output master combined to a first output port which is connected to a first display device for confirming an extension display identifier of the first display device and distributing first extension display identifier information including the extension display identifier; a first input master combined to a first input port which is connected to a host device for receiving the first extension display identifier information from the first output master and receiving an image signal from the first host device; and a bus line for connecting the first input master and the first output master. The first input master transmits the first extension display identifier information to the host device, receives an image signal with an optimal resolution data format corresponding to the first extension display identifier information among data formats which are supported by the first host device and transmits the image signal to the first display device.
