<p>A polarity protection circuit (16) for a battery booster device is provided. According to an exemplary embodiment, the polarity protection circuit (16) is comprised of solid-state devices (12a, 12b, 12c, 12d). Preferably no mechanical or electro-mechanical devices, such as solenoids are included in the polarity protection circuit (16). The polarity protection circuit (16) is electrically connected to the battery (11) to be charged and to the boosting battery (2). The polarity protection circuit (16) prevents current flow between the batteries unless proper polarity is achieved.</p> |
