PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for manufacturing, without using hydrochloric acid, a linear alkoxy titanic acid-phosphoric acid polymer including no chlorine of any morphology.SOLUTION: In the provided method for manufacturing a linear alkoxy titanic acid-phosphoric acid polymer, a chain transfer polymerization is initiated by adding phosphoric acid or alkyl phosphoric acid ester to an alcohol solution of alkoxy titanic acid in the absence of water and mineral acid, and at a stage where the viscosity of the polymerization product liquid has reached 1.0×10cP, not only is the polymerization terminated by stopping the addition of the phosphoric acid or alkyl phosphoric acid ester and by cooling the system, for example, but the product is also dissolved into water or an organic solvent, above all isopropyl alcohol, methanol, or methanol/water mixed solvent. |
