PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to allocate functions to hard keys of an operation device according to a state of an image processing apparatus when the operation device is connected with the image processing apparatus.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus, when a general purpose operation device is connected with the image processing apparatus, acquires key information indicating hard keys (here, HOME key, BACK key, and MENU key) included in the general purpose operation device, creates a hard key control management table in which functions are allocated in accordance with a management state of the image processing apparatus, and passes over the table to the general purpose operation device. In the figure, functions of the keys are allocated such that when the HOME key is depressed during setting while a job is not executed, an operation to execute the job is performed, and when the BACK key is depressed, an operation to cancel the job is performed. |
