PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight detecting device which is to be laid under a mattress or the like for detecting weight of a person without detecting a weight of the mattress or the like by supporting the weight by an elastic body, and design the weight detecting device to hardly deteriorate and be inexpensively manufactured.SOLUTION: A weight detecting device comprises: a base plate which is a thin plate body provided with first electrodes on its upper surface; a cover plate which is a thin plate body installed over the base plate and provided with second electrodes at opposite positions of the first electrodes on the base plate; and a support member which is comprised of an elastic body which change of its shape according to the weight, and holds the cover plate in a position detached from the base plate so that the first electrodes and the second electrodes are kept separated when the weight imposed on an upper surface of the cover plate is equal to or less than a predetermined value, and also supports the cover plate in a position in which the first electrodes and the second electrodes are in contact when the weight imposed on the cover plate exceeds the predetermined value. |
