The plurality of nanochannels extends therethrough to allow passage of one or more analytes through the nanochannels. The nanochannels have one or more binding agents provided therein to bind to the one or more analytes. Also disclosed is a method of making the membrane. Also disclosed are a membrane biosensor system and methods for detecting the presence of analytes in a sample.
