The present invention improves accuracy by increasing the number of atoms engaged in a clock transition in an optical lattice clock. This exemplary optical lattice clock (100) of an embodiment is provided with an optical waveguide (10), an optical path (20), a laser light source (30), and a laser cooling part (40). A hollow passage (14) extending from a first end (16) to a second end (18) of the optical waveguide are enclosed by a tubular wall (12), the hollow passages (14) being present as a conductive waveguide. The optical path passes through the passage (14) between mirrors (26, 28). The laser light source supplies a pair of lattice lasers (L1, L2) in opposite directions to each other. A laser cooling unit (40) supplies cold atoms (50) to the vicinity of the first end (16) of the optical waveguide (10), the cold atoms (50) having a second level electronic state associated with the clock transition. |
