The invention relates to the development of hard-to-reach regions of the Arctic and Antarctic. The method for creating ice camps and airfields is suitable for use in polar environments and makes it possible to minimize damage to the environment. A preliminary search is carried out by helicopter for an area suitable for an ice airfield and camp, wherein an intermediate area, referred to as a jalousie point, can be used in an Arctic zone for the dropping of fuel in order to enable the refueling and subsequent onward flight of a helicopter in the direction of a pole for the purpose of the continued search for an ice floe suitable for an ice airfield and camp. Once an ice floe suitable for an airfield and camp has been selected, an airplane is used to transport and parachute drop people and equipment for the construction of a take-off and landing strip for an ice airfield and for the subsequent deployment of an ice camp for accommodating scientists, tourists and sportspersons.
|
