PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a battery pack capable of shortening the work time for covering the battery pack body with a cover member.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a battery pack includes a sponge compression step (S01) for compressing sponge materials 15b, 16b radially inward and reducing the diameter thereof so as to reduce the external diameter of members 15, 15 with sponges for a prescribed time, an assembling step (S02) for releasing the compressed state of the sponge materials 15b, 16b, inserting the members 15, 15 with sponges into openings 25, 26 within the prescribed time after releasing the compressed state of the sponge materials 15b, 16b, and covering the battery pack body 10 with a side shield 21, and a sponge restoration step (S03) for bringing the sponge materials 15b, 16b into tight contact with the openings 25, 26, by radially outward expansion of the sponge materials 15b, 16b upon elapsing the prescribed time after releasing the compressed state of the sponge materials 15b, 16b. |
