PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network connection setting support device and a network connection setting support method that support to realize an easy setting of a network connection via a wizard even when a new scanner is connected in a complex network connection form. SOLUTION: Information relating to plural fixed-type network connection patterns is stored. Selection of one network connection pattern is received from the plural network connection patterns, and an allocation region that allocates a function to share data with a communication unit connected to a network is identified. In accordance with the network connection pattern that receives the selection, link information that is information causing the identified allocation region to link between the communication units is formed. When a new communication unit is connected to the network, link information formed for the communication unit to be connected is stored in addition to link information that is already stored.
