<p>Bulky spun fibre yarns are produced by mixing at least 90% by weight mechanically crimped yarns with up to 10% weight of heat-fixed, thermoplastic straight bicomponent, self crimping staple fibres, which crimp when heated in the relaxed state, then spinning the mixed fibres to a yarn with the application of sufficient twist to give a twist index above 2, and finally heating the spun yarn in the relaxed state to generate, at least partly, crimp in the two-component fibres and to produce a yarn of high bulk which can then be fixed.</p> |
