摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve alignment accuracy based on a photographed image.SOLUTION: An optical coupling method comprises: the step of aligning an optical fiber 3 and photoelectric conversion elements 41A and 41B based on an image formed as a result of photographing the photoelectric conversion elements 41A and 41B and the optical fiber 3, arranged on a substrate 30, from a direction parallel to the end faces of the optical fiber 3 and the substrate 30; and the step of forming an optical coupling part configured to optically couple the end faces of the optical fiber 3 and the photoelectric conversion elements 41A and 41B. In a case where the directions of the optical fiber 3 at the ends of the optical fiber 3 are forward and backward directions, the end face side as viewed from the optical fiber 3 is defined as front and, the opposite, as back, the photoelectric conversion elements 41A and 41B are arranged on the substrate 30 at different positions in the forward and backward directions. When the end faces of the optical fibers 3 are optically coupled with the corresponding photoelectric conversion elements 41A and 41B, an optical fiber 3TX in which the end face is arranged on the back side forms the optical coupling part first.</p>
