The present invention relates to a device for reading and recording position information of a destination in a traffic card (chip) and a method thereof. The method includes a step (T10) that a passenger puts the traffic card including the position information on a traffic card reader, a step (T20) that a position information control program (230) reads the position information from the chip of the traffic card, and a step (T30) that a driving result for the destination is calculated and displayed on a navigation device by using the current position from a GPS and the position information. Therefore, when the traffic card including the position information is put on the traffic card reader of a taxi, movement information for the destination is calculated.
