The present invention provides a nonchromate metal surface treatment agent which is optimum as a metal film steel material and has excellent processability, adhesiveness and corrosion resistance in the pretreatment of coating paints. The metal surface treatment agent comprises an organic silicon compound represented by a formula (1) below as an essential component. (R is a hydrolytic group, R' is a C1 to C4 alkyl group, A is a linear or branched C1 to C8 alkylene group, X is one of an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom and a nitrogen atom, each of R1 and R2 is independently a hydrogen atom, a C1 to C20 alkyl group, a C1 to C20 fluoroalkyl group, a C6 to C10 aryl group, a C2 to C10 akenyl group, or a substituent represented by a formula (2) below, and m is an integer of 1 to 3)(R is a hydrolytic group, R' is a C1 to C4 alkyl group, B is a linear or branched C1 to C8 alkylene group, and m is an integer of 1 to 3). |
