The method involves carrying out a digital impression (100) on a provisional intermediate support (10) to obtain a pre-printed decoration (20). The pre-printed decoration is implemented (110) on a surface of an aircraft. The surface of the aircraft is varnished (120) and covered with the pre-printed decoration to seal inside the decoration by a varnishing unit (50). The intermediate support is provided as a flexible support for deformation of light to separate the pre-printed decoration from the support by peeling, where the intermediate support is silicone or greaseproof paper. An independent claim is also included for an installation for decorating an aircraft.
