The purpose of the present invention is to provide a design for a pearl coating color serving as an automobile body paint wherein a highlighted section has little bluing interference, a shade section has weak transparent yellow color, and a white color from a base paint can be seen in all directions. The present invention provides a photoluminescent coating composition comprising an interference photoluminescent pigment and titanium dioxide pigment particles, wherein the photoluminescent coating composition is characterized in that the volume-average grain size D90 of the titanium dioxide pigment is 700 to 1200 nm, the D50 thereof is 250 to 900 nm, and the mass ratio of the interference photoluminescent pigment and the titanium dioxide pigment in the coating solid component of the interference photoluminescent coating composition is interference photoluminescent pigment/titanium dioxide pigment=10/1 to 5/1. The present invention also provides a method for forming a multilayered coating using the photoluminescent coating composition and a multilayered coating formed thereby. |
