PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel decoding apparatus and a method therefor in a communication system using a low-density parity check (LDPC) code.SOLUTION: The method includes: determining the number of parity bits to be punctured; segmenting the parity bits at predetermined intervals to determine the number of puncturing bits punctured at the predetermined intervals; determining the position of each puncturing parity bit corresponding to each of the number of puncturing bits determined in each interval; and repetitively executing to puncture the puncturing parity bit corresponding to the position determined at the predetermined interval.
