<p>The present invention comprises: an AWG (arrayed waveguide grating) chip having a first slab waveguide connected to a first input/output waveguide, an array waveguide comprising a plurality of channel waveguides connected to the first slab waveguide, a second slab waveguide connected to the array waveguide, and a plurality of second input/output waveguides connected to the second slab waveguide, the AWG chip being cut in two along a cutting plane crossing the first or the second slab waveguide; a backing board joined to the lower surface of the AWG chip and having at least a portion thereof cut along the cutting plane of the AWG chip; a compensating member that compensates for the temperature-dependent shift in the central wavelength of light transmission in an AWG, the compensating member provided so as to traverse a region of the backing board separated at the cutting plane; and a warp-attenuating member having a coefficient of linear expansion that ranges from the coefficient of linear expansion of the backing board to less than the coefficient of linear expansion of the compensating member, the warp-attenuating member being bonded to the compensating member by an adhesive so as to attenuate stress between the backing board and the compensating member.</p> |
