PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article estimation system capable of estimating an article from an image of the spine of an article such as a book.SOLUTION: A server 2 on which an article estimation system is mounted comprises an extraction part 21, an analysis part 22, a first estimation part 24, an information acquisition part 25, and a second estimation part 26. The extraction part 21 extracts an image area for respective articles from an image in which a plurality of articles are photographed. The analysis part 22 acquires analysis information by analyzing the image area. The first estimation part 24 narrows down candidates to be estimated as an article photographed in the image area on the basis of the analysis information. The information acquisition part 25 acquires additional information associated with an article of the candidate as additional information on a reference article, when the narrowing down is successful. The second estimation part 26 tries processing for narrowing down on the basis of the additional information on the reference article as well as the analysis information with regard to the image area of which the narrowing down is failed, when the additional information is acquired. |
