PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent overheating of a liquid discharge head.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device comprises a driving signal generation section for generating a driving signal and a liquid discharge head. The driving signal is a periodic signal. One period of the driving signal is constituted of two segments of a droplet discharge segment including a waveform portion used for discharging droplets from nozzles, (i) and a droplet non-discharge segment not including the waveform portion used for discharging the droplets from the nozzles, (ii). The droplet non-discharge segment is longer than the droplet discharge segment.
