PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water sealing device of a deflector operating shaft for preventing intrusion of water into a boat through a penetration part of the deflector operating shaft, concerning a steering arrangement of a water jet propulsion unit.SOLUTION: A water jet propulsion unit steers a boat by controlling water jet in right and left directions using a deflector at a rear end of a discharge casing. In the unit, a water sealing device has an operating shaft 7 penetrating through an inlet flange 12 of an inlet casing, and is provided with a seal housing 21 internally provided with water sealing devices 24, 26 for preventing water from intruding into a boat through a through-hole 14 of the inlet flange 12 on an inboard side of the inlet flange 12. Thus, water sealing of the operating shaft 7 moving in the shaft direction while turning can be reliably performed, and also replacement of the water sealing devices 24, 26 can be easily conducted from the inboard side. |
