The rotary knob has two bodies (4,6) coaxially arranged one above the other. The lower body is non-rotatably connected to the steering wheel. The upper body is rotatably mounted on a common axis. The common contact surfaces of the two bodies are connected to each other in a force-fitting manner, such that the upper body is rotatable around its axis only under a rotational force overcoming the frictional connection against the lower body.
