PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of spottily releasing, from a fiber having a surface coated with a silicone-based surface treatment agent, the silicone-based surface treatment agent coated thereon based on a simple method.SOLUTION: This method for removing, by using a release agent, a silicone-based surface treatment agent from a portion of a silicone-coated fiber having a surface coated with the surface treatment agent includes a step of contacting, with a release target portion of the fiber, a release agent including an acid capable of decomposing the silicone and/or a solvent which has an affinity to the silicone, while the prevailing state is being let to stand or while light vibrations are being impressed, the release agent and fiber by preserving the state where the release agent is being contacted with at least a portion of the fiber, and then of washing the release agent; this method for removing a silicone-based surface treatment agent from a fiber may, if necessary, additionally include a step of contacting the fiber with a weakly alkaline solution for neutralizing the acid remaining thereon and then removing therefrom a neutralized salt and the weak alkali by means of washing. |
