摘要 This semiconductor light-emitting device comprises: a semiconductor light-emitting chip (100) that emits polarized light and in which the growth surface is a non-polar surface or a semi-polar surface; and a reflector (120) having a reflective surface that reflects the polarized light. If plane L90 is a plane that includes a normal line of the growth surface of the semiconductor light-emitting chip and that forms an angle of 90° with respect to the polarization direction of the polarized light and if plane L45 is a plane that includes the normal line and that forms an angle of 45° with respect to the polarization direction, the reflective surface reflects at least a portion of the light on said plane L90 toward the normal direction of the growth surface of the light-emitting chip. The amount of light reflected by the reflective surface on said plane L90 toward the normal direction of the growth surface of the light-emitting chip is greater than the amount of light reflected by the reflective surface on said plane L45 toward the normal direction of the growth surface of the light-emitting chip.
