PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently deploy and inflate an upstream chamber with a gas jet part disposed therein earlier than a downstream side chamber.SOLUTION: In a side airbag device where an inflation part 60 is sectioned into an upstream side chamber 61 with a gas jet part 31A disposed therein and a downstream side chamber 62 adjacent to the upper side of the upstream side chamber 61 by a tether 52 extending in a back and forth direction, an airbag 40 in the non-inflated and non-deployed state is brought into a storage form by performing at least first folding and second folding. At the first folding, the airbag 40 is brought into an elongated intermediate form substantially in a vertical direction by folding a front side portion 40F of the airbag 40 from a front toward a rear. At the second folding, a folding-back line is set between the gas jet part 31A and the tether 52, and in the airbag 40 in the intermediate form, a folded-back part 74 at the opposite side (upper side) to an inflator assembly 30 across the folding-back line is folded back to a front-downside along the folding-back line. |
