PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reading device that improves the accuracy of correcting read data corresponding to the position of a foreign matter.SOLUTION: The position of a foreign matter is detected in a reading area for optically reading a document, and it is determined whether read data obtained by reading the document is data of a character area. When it is determined to be data of a character area, data corresponding to the position of the foreign matter detected by detection means within the read data is corrected by replacing it with data representing a document color. |
