The ornamental brick is for use when forming different patterns, and is of right angled trapezium shape, the two parallel sides having lengths in a ratio of 1:2, while their sum is equal to the other side enclosing the right angle. The brick has a covering layer with a radiused or chamfered edge and of a colour different from that of the brick. There is a covering layer on both sides of the brick, with similarly chamfered or radiused edges, and the layers can be of different colours. The material forming the covering layer can first be placed in the mould, after which the main brick is placed in position. The second layer is then placed on the brick and the whole compressed by a plate with a chamfering edge.
